Hendricks County Master Gardeners is hosting a hands-on workshop: AMAZING AMARYLLIS. The workshop will provide information about Amaryllis (Hippeastrum hybrids), and lead the participant through the process of planting, discussion of care and maintenance and storage for re-use. The information session and hands-on planting will be led by Certified Purdue Master Gardeners.
Each participant will:
Learn about this unique and beautiful flowering indoor plant that begins as a bulb and grows to produce trumpet like flowers in a variety of colors and bloom size.
Plant an Amaryllis bulb in a decorative container using the appropriate drainage and soil medium. We will have a variety of decorations to include in your finished project if you wish.
Receive instruction on care, maintenance and storage
Complete the workshop by taking home the potted bulb – and wait for the magic to happen when the bulb sends up shoots and then blooms in 4-6 weeks.
COST: $35.00 for EACH ATTENDEE. Space is limited, reservation required.
