Hendricks County Master Gardeners is hosting a hands-on workshop: AMAZING AMARYLLIS.  The workshop will provide information about Amaryllis (Hippeastrum hybrids), and lead the participant through the process of planting, discussion of care and maintenance and storage for re-use.  The information session and hands-on planting will be led by Certified Purdue Master Gardeners.

 Each participant will:

  • Learn about this unique and beautiful flowering indoor plant that begins as a bulb and grows to produce trumpet like flowers in a variety of colors and bloom size.

  • Plant an Amaryllis bulb in a decorative container using the appropriate drainage and soil medium.  We will have a variety of decorations to include in your finished project if you wish.

  • Receive instruction on care, maintenance and storage

  • Complete the workshop by taking home the potted bulb – and wait for the magic to happen when the bulb sends up shoots and then blooms in 4-6 weeks.

COST:    $35.00 for EACH ATTENDEE.  Space is limited, reservation required.

ALL MATERIALS PROVIDED.  SNACKS AND DRINKS PROVIDED

The workshop will count as 2 hours of Purdue MG Education
