  • Kathleen Warfel Hull, MD

    Revolutionary Medicinal Plants

    Dr. Hull is a graduate of Butler University and the Washington University School of Medicine. She currently is Professor emerita of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine.  Since retirement in 2000, she has pursued her interest in plants and the history of medicine. She has been the head of the Medicinal Plant Garden at the Indiana Medical History Museum since its inception. The garden, which is a project of the Purdue Extension Master Gardeners of Marion County, is celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year. Dr. Hull is a Purdue Extension Advanced Master Gardener and a past president of the Master Gardener Association of Marion County.

    Alliums - Easy Powerhouses for Your Vegetable Garden

    Kelly and her husband have been sustainable farming for almost 40 years, raising market vegetables, grassfed beef and free range poultry. Both are Advanced Master Gardeners and enjoy educating others on gardening.

  • Larry Kemerly

    The Amazing Honeybee

    Larry has been keeping bees for 29 years, kept bees in 3 states, and currently maintains about 200 honey producing hives. In addition to honey production, he also produces queens and nucs for Indiana beekeepers. Larry has had a fascination with bees from a young age, and what started as a hobby has grown into a sideline business. Although there are certainly challenges in today’s world of beekeeping, he has no desire to give it up.

  • Carol J Michel

    Digging and Delighted: Dig in the Fall to be Delighted in the Spring

    Carol J. Michel is an award-winning author of several books including five gardening humor books and two children’s book. As the holder of degrees in both horticulture and computer technology, she spent over three decades making a living in healthcare IT while making a life in her garden. She started writing about gardening on her blog called May Dreams Gardens which lead to numerous magazine articles, her books, and a podcast called The Gardenangelists. She was named a GardenComm Fellow by Garden Communicators International in 2021.
